Dear Family & Friends, 

Welcome to our Team page!  

As more people hear about the news of our dad's condition, we are very grateful for the overwhelming love and support that has been given to him.  This journey has been filled with heavy emotions and it's been hard for many of us.  Despite this, we are turning a painful situation into a positive journey.  A path that will lead to healing and awakening.   Our dad is completely blessed.   He is resilient and is a true example of courage and strength.  Our team name is a testament to this.   In honor of our Lao culture, we picked a slogan that defines his character.  A play on words with a profound meaning.  

Team Name: PAPA, SU SU!  

Meaning:  Dad!  Fight!  Fight!  

Slogan: BOR PHET, BOR SU! 

Meaning: Phet is short for Somphet.  Our dad's name. 

'Because he is Phet, he is favored to win this fight!'

Significance: He has an inherent ability to fight.  His strength and unwavering determination with his health journey is an inspiration to us all and he will fight through this and will be completely healed.  BECAUSE HE IS OUR DAD!

Please join us in supporting the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) for their signature 5K run/walk in San Diego, CA. We're walking to support Cancer research in order to advance medical technology and research, so when another person with cancer of an unknown primary comes along, more tests can be done to help determine the source and kick its butt! 

****We're going to have team t-shirts, so let Kandace or Nicholas know if you want one and what size by March 20th please! ****

***WE WILL ALSO BE PICKING UP EVERYONE'S RUNNING GEAR THE DAY BEFORE THE WALK, LET US KNOW IF YOU PLAN TO PICK IT UP YOURSELF***

This event is held alongside the AACR Annual Meeting 2024, a gathering of cancer scientists, survivors, advocates, and others to discuss the latest developments in the fight against cancer.
