This year this mission feels more close than ever. After year of dedicating my time to cancer research, my best friend lost her battle to cancer even before it started. She was diagnosed with large cells lung cancer carcinoma, one of the most aggressive and not well characterized type of cancer, that took her away after not even 2 months from her diagnosis. At the time of the diagnosis, the cancer was already spread to the brain and after a week made his home into her bones…it was too fast and too soon that left us in complete shock. She was one of the most pure and kind souls I have ever met in my life and I was lucky enough to spend 39 years of my life as her “friend of heart”…that’s how we called each others.
I ask you to join me in supporting the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) for their signature 5K run/walk in San Diego, CA. To join me and or/support me in my run to honor Rosa Maria Principe.
This event is held alongside the AACR Annual Meeting 2024, a gathering of cancer scientists, survivors, advocates, and others to discuss the latest developments in the fight against cancer.
The AACR is on a mission to prevent and cure ALL cancers. It is the first and largest cancer research organization in the world with a membership of more than 54,000 professionals residing in over 130 countries working on the front lines of the effort to eradicate cancer.
