Crushing Cholangiocarcinoma

2025 AACR Runners for Research 5K Run/Walk

Hello,

Please join me in supporting the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) for their signature 5K run/walk in Chicago, IL. This event is held alongside the AACR Annual Meeting 2025, a gathering of cancer scientists, survivors, advocates, and others to discuss the latest developments in the fight against cancer.

The AACR is on a mission to prevent and cure ALL cancers. It is the first and largest cancer research organization in the world with a membership of more than 58,000 professionals residing in 141 countries working on the front lines of the effort to eradicate cancer.

As many of you know, my Mother, Juanita H. Thomas, was a 2x cancer survivor.  She successfully beat Ovarian Cancer in 2017, taking part in the numerous walks and strides with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) from 2017-2022.  She remained cancer free for 8 years.  However, in January of 2024 she was diagnosed with a more aggressive type of cancer, Cholangiocarcinoma (which is cancer of the bile duct.)  This is a rare type of cancer which is difficult to diagnose in the early stages.  We are walking not only to help with research in support of Cholangiocarcinoma, but to help all who are battling all types of cancer.

Please join the fun and support an important cause at the 2025 AACR Runners for Research 5K Run/Walk!  We would love for you to be a part of our team! Even if you are unable to take part in the walk, any donation is appreciated!

Please donate today. Thank you for your support!
