Partnering with the AACR and running “The People’s Marathon” is something I’ve wanted to do since starting this running journey. This year I will be able to do that, while pushing for my goal of a BQ.
Since I am a United States Army Veteran and I have been directly impacted by cancer with the loss of my father William Arthur Amaral Jr. (age 37), my best friend Carl Anthony Ferretti (age 26), and my grandmother Doris Jane Potoczniak (age 85), this race and partnership have always been something that has been on my radar. I really look forward to these types of events, so that I am able share the AACR’s message and mission of the importance of cancer research.
Every race I run is in honor of the people who can no longer do things like this.
We need you to help create a world with more research and less cancer by joining the AACR Runners for Research at the 2024 Marine Corps Marathon. Team up with AACR Runners for Research to raise awareness and funds for research on over 200 types of cancers.
