Please join me in supporting the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) at the Walt Disney World Marathon 2020!

I plan to start 2020 with a very positive achievement, after an emotional 2019.. My father, Jim, passed away from Cancer and my daughter, Peyton, had a near death fall from the top of a waterfall. The emotions were trying in both situations. My father battled Cancer long enough to say his proper good-byes and pass away in peace. With my daughter, it was despair and anguish, watching her fate decided in seconds. Peyton was miraculously saved by a ledge 25 ft down, which kept her from another 50 feet of peril. She was saved by the grace of God. After bringing her to safe ground, I vowed to Peyton that I would train with her until she got back on the soccer field. I committed to run one more marathon in honor of her. Her expected 5-6 month recovery took a mere 3 months before returning to game action. She and I decided to leverage the race as a way to honor my father/her grandfather's request to donate to Cancer Research and help those that come after him. My goal is to raise $1,200. The Disney Marathon will include layers of emotion, but allows us to fulfill the last wishes of my father, close the book on Peyton’s recovery, and help save lives in the future.

The AACR’s mission is to prevent and cure ALL cancers. It is the first and largest cancer research organization in the world with a membership of more than 40,000 professionals residing in 120 countries working on the front lines of the effort to eradicate cancer.
